Traveling through the outback! It’s been a while since the Runawayfamily kids have had a chance to sit down and write about their favorite places. Here, the Runawayfamily kids discuss their favorite adventures on their trip through Uluru and the Outback to Sydney and the Gold Coast.
Did you know that Australia is the smallest continent in the world? Today I am going to tell you about Uluru, the Koala Hospital and Sydney.
A few weeks earlier, we went to the Outback. The Outback is a big desert in the middle of Australia. I know you are wondering why we would we go to a desert. Well, we went there because it had Uluru. Uluru is a big red rock. I know what you are wondering again. What is so special about Uluru? Uluru is important because it is the heart of Australia. It is so amazing because it is one of Australia’s most important landmarks. Now there is not much more to do in the Outback except to visit Kata Tjuta. Kata Tjuta is a group of big rocks but they are still way smaller than Uluru!
Next, I am going to tell you about the Koala Hospital. The Koala Hospital is a hospital for koalas. The most interesting koala was Zunini because she had hurt paws. Talking about Zunini, we adopted her but not to take home. It meant we helped her out with money for her treatments. They made the Koala Hospital because of koalas getting hurt from forest fires, getting hit by cars and falling out of a trees!
Finally, I am going to tell you a whole lot about Sydney. Sydney is a big city. In fact, it is the biggest city in Australia! My favorite thing in Sydney was the Sydney Opera House because it looks so modern. It looks so modern because its roof looks like ship sails. Another cool thing was the Sydney Bridge but it is a long walk to the end!
Now we are almost done Australia. Like I always say, now me and my family need to run away to our next stop in Queensland where we are going to snorkel on the coral reefs!
